Here in Pennsylvania we are still struggling with new cases of the virus. Things are still in a state of fluidity, where we are not sure what the next tide will bring.
The AYC is open and available for your yarny needs, while staying as safe as we possibly can. Email remains the best way to reach us: [email protected]
The blog took a bit of a hiatus during May and June. We are back at it, with last month’s How Do You Stitch post. Missed it? Find it HERE!
We’ve decided that for August, we will feature our kits. We currently offer a variety of kits for purchase on our website. Let me introduce you.

Flutura Shawl by Heather Sakall for The Alpaca Yarn Company, shown in Violet Posie.
The Flutura Shawl:
Our newest kit utilizes two full skeins of our Paca Peds fingering weight yarn. This shawl has an easy to memorize lace pattern for the main body and a fun, easy-to-work play on feather and fan for the border.

LaRaya Cowl – Pattern included with this kit in Safety Dance
The Half Mad Set with the La Raya Cowl:
This is both a yarn set and a kit. While we do offer the La Raya Cowl with the set, the 5 mini skeins (total of 550 combined yards) can be used for so many things. Let your imagination run wild! Stripey, extra long socks? Sure!! Crazy striped scarf? Absolutely! Granny square, patchwork shawl? Why not!?

Forget Not Mitt Kit – beginner Fair Isle Mitts
The Forget Not Mitts:
These quick little fingerless mitts are a favorite in yarn shops for beginning colorwork classes. Never done colorwork before? This kit is a great way to start!!!
Last but not least, the oldie, but goodie, The Passi Shawl:
This is our long time shawl kit… It was meant to be a limited run, but has been so popular, that we’ve kept it on for over seven years now! This is color-block gradient in three shades of a color… It has three lace patterns that change along the way to hold the interest of knitters, new and seasoned alike.
With the ever growing popularity of kits, we are always looking for ideas and suggestions. Is there a “dream kit” you are looking for and haven’t been able to find? Are you a designer with a bold idea and want to collaborate? Let us know! We are always open to input!
Yarningly Yours,
Beth, Heather, and Tasha
